Photo paper comes in two types of finishes – glossy or matte, depending on the texture you are looking for. Within the category of glossy, you can find semi-glossy or completely glossy. If the A4 photo paper that you want needs to have vivid, high-color resolution, glossy is probably the best type for you. It has the kind of finish that accentuates colors and does not allow them to fade too easily or look washed out. You need to read the instructions for your printer carefully and see which kind is the most suitable. For example, if you have an inkjet printer, you should only use inkjet photo paper. The same applies to a laser printer, which would positively destroy inkjet paper with the high temperatures that it needs to print. And once you have worked that out, you should check to see if your printer has an optimum weight for the paper that you will load inside it.

So what is the actual size of A4 photo paper? In metric measures, it is 210cm x 297cm, or 8.27 inches x 11.69 inches. This is a very standard size for a sheet of paper, and most printers are quite happy to take a piece of paper that is of these measurements. You can actually fit quite a few pictures on an A4 size paper, depending on how large they are. If you are not using the paper for photographs as such, it is also an ideal size for folding into half and using as a greeting card. By printing a lovely picture on the front, you can create the most beautiful personalized greetings for your friends and family.

Another creative kind of A4 photo paper is transfer paper. You can create a great design on a piece of this paper, which you can then transfer to a t-shirt. In fact, A4 is probably the right size for making a t-shirt design for an adult, personalizing your clothing the way you want it.

A4 is also a very convenient size for carrying papers around with you. Most plastic pockets or bags will take papers that size. So using A4 photo paper is probably your best choice in all sorts of ways, from the viewpoint of the size of the pictures on the page, to the actual purpose of the pictures, and the portability of the end product.
